Kicked off the 2014 Season in Izmir

The 2014 Turkish Rally Championship got underway in Izmir with the classic Ege Rally. This year we are going to be driving the 4WD Ford Fiesta S2000 which will enable us to challenge for the overall lead of the rally. We had a taste of what Fiesta S2000 has to offer in the two gravel rallies we competed in the previous year. We kicked off 2014 with a local rally to get to grips with the car on tarmac, then did a fantastic press launch for the season. Now we are ready to get going!

We started the event on a moderate pace as we wanted to get to know the car as much as possible on tarmac. Tricky conditions on the first stage didnt help us but we managed to finish the day 5th overall, 6 seconds behind Burak Cukurova. On the second day we wanted to try to get faster, we were helped by the punture and retirements of our competitors to find ourselves battling for the second place with Burak. On the final two stages we did everything we can to secure second place which turned out to be very valuable as our teammate Murat won the event.
